Neill Unveils His New Valentine's Collection For 2024

A red Rose is undoubtedly the most symbolic of flowers. A timeless, universal expression of love and romance inspired by Roman mythology when the birth of Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, was marked by the blooming of Roses. This association of love and red Roses travelled through time and different cultures until, in the 17th century, the tradition of sending Roses to one's loved one on Valentine's Day was officially established. 

If a single flower must portray such a powerful, emblematic message, naturally my quest is to find the very best red Roses, and create the most stunning designs, for the occasion. 

For many years now, I have sourced my red Roses from the revered Marc Van Der Drift in the Netherlands where he is renowned for producing the world's most beautiful, sturdiest and long-lasting Red Naomi Roses. He is also an inspiration to other growers, not just for the quality of his flowers, but the 100% sustainable way in which he grows them. Producing his own energy from natural sources, (geothermal heating which involves the pumping up of naturally hot water from below the earth's surface), he is able to use power assimilation lighting to further increase the strength and quality of his red Roses. As I am committed to ensuring sustainability across all facets of our business, we collaborate with only the most sustainable growers globally amongst whom Van Der Drift stands out as a pioneer and paradigm in environmental protection. 

Our new 2024 Valentine's Collection comprises exquisite red Rose bouquets, from a single Rose to an impressive one hundred, carefully hand-tied by our florists with Van Der Drift's "Super Sexy" Red Naomi Roses. This new "Super Sexy" category constitutes premium Roses, 80 cms tall, with the largest, fullest heads in slightly varying sizes, which create a natural, garden-picked feel to our designs. Blended with gold-sprayed Wax Flower, Hypericum Berry and seasonal foliage, these bouquets can be ordered with or without, as desired, our custom-made, gold-coloured glass vase.

A stunning alternative to red Roses, is our "Romantic Reverie" bouquet, a generous mix of gorgeous blooms in pink and ruby tones. Roses, Spray Roses, Vanda and Phalaenopsis Orchids are combined with Calla Lillies, Lisianthus, Gerberas and Dianthus, to create a tapestry of colour and texture that spells love and beauty as tenderly as a traditional red Rose. 

I am excited about a new collaboration this year which allows us to introduce new gift packs comprising our fabulous flowers together with a bottle of Champagne or alcohol-free French bubbly.

We have paired up with our Mayfair neighbour, Hedonism Wines, especially for Valentine's Day. A ring of romantic blooms cradle a bottle of Premier Cru Rosé Champagne from renowned family winemakers, Frerejean Frères in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne. Served in the very best Michelin Star restaurants and Palace Hotels, this craft Champagne has risen to the top with a fresh approach to Champagne making, blending tradition with innovation while respecting family heritage and local traditions tailored to modern luxury.

For those wishing to celebrate without alcohol, our romantically designed flowers encircle a bottle of "French Bloom," an organic, sparkling rosé wine made with French savoir fair created in 2019 by two talented young women, Maggie Frerejean-Taittinger of Champagne Frerejean Frères and Constance Jablonski, director of the famed Michelin Guide. Selected as the World’s Best Alcohol-Free bubbly at the 2023 World Sparkling Wine Awards, "French Bloom" is a very special, sophisticated drink that can be enjoyed without moderation as a delicious delight for Valentine's Day!
