Studio & Operations Assistant

Job type: Full-time, 5 days (including some weekends)
Reports to: Head of Operations
Location: Studio, Hurlingham Business Estate, SW6 (including off site travelling)

About the role:
This is a hands-on, practical role supporting the delivery of weddings and events.
You will be responsible for getting things done – preparing, building, installing, maintaining, and supporting the team both in the studio and on-site.
It suits someone who enjoys physical work, problem-solving, and working with tools, materials, and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Installations & Practical Work (Core Focus)
- Assist with the build, installation, and breakdown of event structures and floral displays
- Carry out hands-on tasks including drilling, fixing, painting, assembling, and general DIY
- Support large-scale installations on-site at venues and private residences
- Work alongside florists and designers to bring creative concepts to life
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Logistics & Transport
- Load and unload vehicles for events and studio operations
- Drive company vehicles (including Luton vans) for deliveries, collections, and installations
- Assist with on-site setup and breakdown according to timelines
Studio & Inventory Support (Weddings & Events Only)
- Support the organisation and upkeep of the studio and storage areas
- Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for upcoming projects
- Assist with Weddings & Events inventory only (not retail stock)
- Help track items, returns, and general stock movement
- Carry out basic admin tasks related to inventory using internal systems / MS Office
Additional Support
- Assist with planting, gardening, and maintenance where required
- Help prepare materials and structures in advance of installations
- Support general studio operations during busy periods
General Responsibilities
- Represent the company professionally on-site
- Be reliable, proactive, and willing to take instruction
- Communicate clearly with team members and managers
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Be flexible with working hours depending on event schedules
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong practical / hands-on skillset (DIY, tools, building, fixing)
- Full UK driving licence + confidence driving vans (including Luton vans)
- Physically capable of lifting and manual work
- Good work ethic and willingness to get involved in all tasks
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, systems use — no admin avoidance)
Desirable:
- Experience in events, production, or installations
- DIY, construction, or workshop experience
- Interest in gardening / planting
- Experience working on-site at venues or private properties
