2017 has been a fantastic year, a very busy one including the launch of our new concession at Harrods, and I find it hard to believe that Christmas is already upon us! I source my Christmas decorations and inspirations all through the year, in different European countries as well as at home, so when we finally put up the displays in our Belgravia boutique at the end of October/early November, it is a very exciting moment for us all.
Our clients are always eager to know what's new, what are the on trend colour palettes, new decorations, in vogue styles... They either come into the boutique to discuss how we should style their home for Christmas, or I go to their exquisite homes for a site visit. For all these clients, I would like to dedicate this blog post to you as a mood board for inspiration. Here are the new trends for a luxurious Christmas designed by Neill Strain Floral Couture for 2017.
A big focus this year will be on the traditional Christmas colours of red, gold and green. These classic hues are so warm, so welcoming, and look magnificent with rich, opulent designs created with layers of mixed foliage, luxury baubles and twigs with tartan or velvet ribbons. What's new however is to mix these customary decorations with flowers, fresh or faux, in reflection of the florals that have strongly featured in fashion throughout the year.
Another traditional favourite colour for Christmas is frosty or snowy white. Refined glass baubles, dainty ornaments, flawless faux flowers and berries enhance the luxurious look to this theme, with touches of gold or silver.
Another trend that will be popular this Christmas is a touch of organic. Mixing rustic looking plant material or feathers with elegant decorations, or using organic coloured baubles with ornate dark ribbons create a unique look that combines a country style with manor living.
In addition to these three themes, we are introducing some fabulous new colours for the 2017 festive season. Coral and bronze, black and silver, purple and burgundy, which is perhaps one of my favourites.
We are also introducing, for the first time, the possibility to order our luxury Christmas wreaths and festive couture arrangements on our online ordering service. While we are currently offering our Autumn Collection on the website, with designs that will be perfect for your Thanksgiving celebrations, our Christmas Collection will go live on November 15th. With same day or next day delivery throughout London, we trust that this service will facilitate your Christmas shopping.
I hope these images will inspire you for developing your own theme for your Christmas decor. And please pop into the Belgravia boutique to see more of our breathtaking designs.
Festively yours,
Neill x
