Sometimes it can be difficult for clients to decide what they want for their Christmas decorations. While one’s home interiors may remain much the same from one Christmas to the next, it’s fun and exciting for your family and guests to change the colour and style of your festive decor. Elegant or theatrical? A new on-trend colour or a traditional classic? Opulent and abundant or ‘less is more?’ If you’re feeling indecisive, my advice is to start with the front door wreath as this sets the theme for the decor inside.
Once you have a clearer idea of your theme, let’s turn our attention to the Christmas Tree as this will take centre stage in the home. What kind of a tree? Fresh, so that you can enjoy the full experience and fragrance of fresh pine, or faux? How tall and how many trees? Just the living room or perhaps one in the dining room too? What colour and style for the decorations?
We can source many different styles and sizes of Christmas Trees, in fresh or faux, and our assortment of tree decorations is endless! While we have exquisite glass baubles and luxury ornaments in every colour imaginable, we also have a collection of gorgeous figurines for those looking for a surprise factor on their tree this year…
If you have a fireplace in your living room there are countless ways to style the mantelpiece. The traditional decor is a fresh pine and seasonal foliage garland adorned with baubles and ornaments in the same colour theme as the Christmas Tree. Ornate decorations, candles, floral arrangements or festive planters, without a garland, are also effective in a more modern style. Here are a few ideas along with some fabulous decorations we currently have on display at the Belgravia boutique.
Like the fireplace mantel, the dining room table can also entertain such decorations… a lush garland, baubles, pine cones, candles, a single or line of floral arrangements or festively dressed plants, exquisite glass decorations that will reflect the candlelight… Why not choose a different colour for your dining-room decorations to add that surprise and wow factor as your guests pass from one room to another?
There are many tall flowers available at Christmas time such as Amaryllis, Orchids and Ilex berries which make impressive tall displays for a hallway or side table.
The final touch for all decorating, whether it be a Christmas party or a summer wedding, is fragrance. That is why I created my own range of fragranced candles, to be able to provide a scent that enhances the overall experience and beauty of my designs. “Christmas Eve” captures all the flavours of the festivities… the fresh Christmas Tree, the figgy pudding, a stroll in the forest after lunch. It blends the traditional scents of Clove, Cinnamon, Orange peel and Pine with Oak Moss and Musk for an uplifting allure.
